Welcome to TaxEnvelope, a tax relief tracking application operated by Lee Sze Yuan (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA) of Malaysia.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate our service:

  • Email Address – for account creation, login, and important communication.
  • Optional File Uploads – such as receipts or documents you choose to store in the app to help identify and track your potential tax reliefs.
You may use the app without uploading any files. Uploading receipts or documents is entirely optional.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used only for:

  • Creating and maintaining your account.
  • Helping you identify and track your eligible tax reliefs.
  • Providing support when you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or selling to third parties.

3. Storage and Protection of Your Data

  • All uploaded files (such as receipts) are encrypted and securely stored.
  • Developers and company staff cannot access your uploaded files, except in special circumstances such as:
    • App malfunction or bug investigation.
    • Recovery assistance when you are unable to retrieve your uploaded files.
  • Access, if required, is strictly logged and limited to authorized personnel.
Your data is stored for up to seven (7) years or until we cease business operations. In the event of business closure, your uploaded files will be returned to you manually in the form of a ZIP archive.

4. Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not share, rent, or sell your personal data or uploaded files to any third parties. However, we may use trusted third-party service providers (for example, cloud storage or hosting platforms) to operate our service securely. These providers are bound by data protection agreements and cannot use your data for any other purpose.

5. Your Rights

Under the PDPA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to your personal data.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and uploaded files.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion:

  • Your account information will be removed from our system.
  • Your uploaded files will be permanently deleted from our storage (after verification).
If you wish to retrieve your uploaded data before deletion, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Privacy Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the effective date shown at the top.
